Curiosity. What would it take to build a personal adviser to answer the question “Should I buy or sell this stock right now?” What we know is that the U.S. markets are driven primarily by large institutional investors that trade in a fraction of a second and have numerous rules to evaluate the viability of a trade. We also know that world events are influenced by as little as the action of one person and that one action can have a profound effect on how the markets’ fluctuate.
Invention.Capturing and providing financial information is straightforward. The intriguing part is how to smartly respond to world events. Implementation. Groovy, Grails, Java, Prolog, Python, PL/pgSQL on Linux with PostgreSQL.
